Environmental Compliance / Air Quality Services Project Manager

Our services include transaction advisory and due diligence, ESG and sustainability, compliance, and investigation and remediation. Aeterra is seeking motivated and inquisitive candidates based in the US to support projects throughout the United States. Ideal candidates will have previous experience in the Mergers & Acquisitions environmental consulting space as well as providing first-rate client service.

As a member of the consulting group, you will be part of our tight-knit interdisciplinary team and work with all levels of technical expertise. Preference to applicants in Chicago or Boston but will consider remote positions for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing air emissions inventories, evaluating air permitting regulations and permitting requirements, and preparing air permit applications for small and mid-sized manufacturing portfolio companies to large manufacturing sites.

  • Conducting greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting calculations.

  • Preparing RCRA hazardous waste and NPDES stormwater and wastewater permit applications for complex industrial facilities.

  • Preparing calculations and reports required under EPCRA (Tier 2, TRI, etc.).

  • Conducting compliance reviews and compliance audits.

  • Conducting Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), if previous experience in this area.

  • Establishing scopes of work and project budgets, managing client communications, preparing and peer review of deliverables, and coordinating interdisciplinary project teams.

  • Helping clients plan through the investment cycle by preparing cost estimates for environmental compliance permitting and/or design and installation of control devices and/or treatment systems.

  • Collaborating and coordinating with Aeterra staff throughout the US to meet internal and external timelines.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of BS in relevant engineering discipline (chemical engineering preferred). Other engineering or science disciplines will be considered based on relevant experience.

  • 2-6 years of relevant experience pertaining to compliance responsibilities outlined above.

  • Previous experience calculating emissions or a degree in either chemical engineering or meteorology required.

  • Strong preference for experience in transaction-related work.

  • Experience in air dispersion modeling or GHG reporting is a preferred, but not required.

  • Excellent writing, excel, communication, strategic thinking, and people skills.

  • Self-starter and solution-oriented thinker that can work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong analytical and research skills.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects/tasks simultaneously while managing deadlines and budgets.

  • Fundamental working knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations

  • Ability to travel up to 50%. Travel is typically short duration (1-3 days) and may be local or throughout the US, depending on project needs. Driver’s license and air travel required.
