Environmental Due Diligence Consultant

Responsibilities
  • Conduct environmental assessments consistent with ASTM Phase I standards on a range of industrial and commercial facilities, related largely to merger and acquisition (M&A) transactions. Assessments will include evaluating known and potential contamination, potential liabilities associated with regulatory compliance (e.g., waste disposal, chemical reporting, wastewater, stormwater, air permitting) as well as health and safety.

  • Provide input on and prepare technical reports that effectively assess potential environmental liability risks, compliance, and operational status in a concise and clear manner.

  • Assist in evaluating business risks associated with known and potential environmental liabilities for both current and former facilities.

  • Help clients identify solutions for managing transaction risks, including EHS compliance, portfolio issues, and remediation/liability cost estimating.

  • Assist industrial clients with regulatory compliance matters (e.g., reporting, permitting, permit transfers) as needed.

  • Collaborate and coordinate with Aeterra staff throughout the US to meet internal and external timelines.

 

Requirements
  • Minimum of BA/BS in relevant science, engineering (civil, environmental, chemical) or environmental discipline (e.g., environmental science, geology, chemistry, physics, biology)

  • 1-5 years of relevant experience

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Strong analytical and research skills

  • Ability to handle multiple projects/tasks simultaneously while managing deadlines and budgets

  • Familiarity with federal and state environmental regulations is preferred.

  • Ability to travel up to 40%. Travel is typically short duration (1-3 days) and may be local or throughout the US, depending on project needs. Driver’s license and air travel required.
