

Environmental Due Diligence Consultant
Responsibilities

Conduct environmental assessments consistent with ASTM Phase I standards on a range of industrial and commercial facilities, related largely to merger and acquisition (M&A) transactions. Assessments will include evaluating known and potential contamination, potential liabilities associated with regulatory compliance (e.g., waste disposal, chemical reporting, wastewater, stormwater, air permitting) as well as health and safety.

Provide input on and prepare technical reports that effectively assess potential environmental liability risks, compliance, and operational status in a concise and clear manner.

Assist in evaluating business risks associated with known and potential environmental liabilities for both current and former facilities.

Help clients identify solutions for managing transaction risks, including EHS compliance, portfolio issues, and remediation/liability cost estimating.

Assist industrial clients with regulatory compliance matters (e.g., reporting, permitting, permit transfers) as needed.

Collaborate and coordinate with Aeterra staff throughout the US to meet internal and external timelines.
Requirements

Minimum of BA/BS in relevant science, engineering (civil, environmental, chemical) or environmental discipline (e.g., environmental science, geology, chemistry, physics, biology)

1-5 years of relevant experience

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Strong analytical and research skills

Ability to handle multiple projects/tasks simultaneously while managing deadlines and budgets

Familiarity with federal and state environmental regulations is preferred.

Ability to travel up to 40%. Travel is typically short duration (1-3 days) and may be local or throughout the US, depending on project needs. Driver’s license and air travel required.
