

Senior Engineer
Responsibilities:

Plan and manage field work, including sampling, drilling, well installation, soil, groundwater, and free-phase product assessment, vapor intrusion assessment, and remedial system construction oversight.

Evaluate environmental data comparing data to state or federal clean-up standards.

Manage project work involving site investigation, risk assessment and remediation of soil, groundwater, and sediments with moderate to complex technical/regulatory issues for clients in the manufacturing, power, chemical, oil & gas, and technology sectors.

Help clients identify solutions for managing remediation/liability cost estimating.

Develop written proposals to clients for both small and large projects, including quality control review of proposals written by others.

Work with existing clients to expand Aeterra’s service offerings through a combination of delivery and business development

Provide technical expertise, training, and mentoring to junior staff.

Collaborate and coordinate with Aeterra staff throughout the US to meet internal and external timelines.
Requirements

Minimum of BA/BS in relevant science, engineering (civil, environmental, chemical) or environmental discipline (e.g., environmental science, geology, chemistry, physics, biology)

Proven project management experience from proposal stage to completion to include establishing scopes and project budgets, client communications, managing deliverables, and coordinating project team.

5-10 years of relevant experience

Environmental field work experience and 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification

Self-starter and solution-oriented thinker able to work in a fast-paced environment

Strong analytical and research skills

Ability to handle multiple projects/tasks simultaneously while managing deadlines and budgets

Fundamental working knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations

Ability to travel up to 40%. Travel is typically short duration (1-4 days) and may be local or throughout the US, depending on project needs. Driver’s license and air travel required.
