Senior Engineer

Responsibilities:
  • Plan and manage field work, including sampling, drilling, well installation, soil, groundwater, and free-phase product assessment, vapor intrusion assessment, and remedial system construction oversight.

  • Evaluate environmental data comparing data to state or federal clean-up standards.

  • Manage project work involving site investigation, risk assessment and remediation of soil, groundwater, and sediments with moderate to complex technical/regulatory issues for clients in the manufacturing, power, chemical, oil & gas, and technology sectors.

  • Help clients identify solutions for managing remediation/liability cost estimating.

  • Develop written proposals to clients for both small and large projects, including quality control review of proposals written by others.

  • Work with existing clients to expand Aeterra’s service offerings through a combination of delivery and business development

  • Provide technical expertise, training, and mentoring to junior staff.

  • Collaborate and coordinate with Aeterra staff throughout the US to meet internal and external timelines.

 

Requirements
  • Minimum of BA/BS in relevant science, engineering (civil, environmental, chemical) or environmental discipline (e.g., environmental science, geology, chemistry, physics, biology)

  • Proven project management experience from proposal stage to completion to include establishing scopes and project budgets, client communications, managing deliverables, and coordinating project team.

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience

  • Environmental field work experience and 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification

  • Strong dedication to Health and Safety

  • Excellent writing, communication, strategic thinking, and people skills

  • Self-starter and solution-oriented thinker able to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong analytical and research skills

  • Ability to handle multiple projects/tasks simultaneously while managing deadlines and budgets

  • Fundamental working knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations

  • Ability to travel up to 40%. Travel is typically short duration (1-4 days) and may be local or throughout the US, depending on project needs. Driver’s license and air travel required.
